Original work in Video, Video and Media Installation, New Media, Experimental Media, Digital Motion Media. There is no entry fee for submission. Work originally created in either digital or analog format is acceptable. Duration may not exceed 10 minutes per piece, and pieces under 5 minutes preferred. There is no minimum duration.
All work must be available for a period of up to two years. Artists will be notified of the schedule in the case a piece is selected for additional exhibition.

Work in all video art styles will be considered, including shorts, experimental, poetic, narrative, abstract, documentary, music, animation, and installation. Most exhibitions will present accepted single channel works on a loop with other artists/pieces, although venues reserve the option to present pieces on individual monitors if they prefer. Some shows are looking for vertical format pieces, silent pieces, or pieces addressing an exhibition theme.

In addition to single channel video, artists who work in installation are encouraged to submit pieces which incorporate video or digital media. A short proposal should be sent with the entry form for installation pieces, including dimensions, materials, equipment, audio, and photographs of this or previous installation work. Some venues may prefer installation pieces which are silent or use headphones.

New media works that are screen- and time-based, including video art, experimental documentary, animation, computational/statistical art, surveillance, social engagement, sound pieces, or any single or multiple-channel work. Website/net based projects and game design will be considered, however not all venues can guarantee internet access so pieces which can be presented offline may be preferred.

Works of animation, web design, game design, and other media-based mediums will be considered, however not all venues can guarantee internet access so pieces which can be presented offline may be preferred. Exporting as an AVI
or MOV file to be presented in video format is preferable. Other formats will be considered on a case by case basis.

EXHIBITIONS AND EVENTS for which your work will be considered include:
WHAT DO YOU WISH for your community? Less noise? More bicycle paths? Cleaner air? Keep it the way it is? Send us your hopes in video! Videos presented as part of WHAT DO YOU WISH at the Staten Island Culture Lounge in the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, July 16-September 20, 2015.

WINDOW VIEW video presentations around town, in store widows, on the sides of buildings, and in unexpected places. Vertical and horizontal format will be considered. Silent pieces may be preferred for some installation locations. Videos presented as part of ARTS ON DIVISION FESTIVAL, Somerville, NJ, June 18-21, 2015.


Please include with your entry:
1. Each entry must be submitted as an AVI or MOV file. Please name each file with artist’s name followed by work title.
examples: john_doe__title_of_piece.MOV jane_doe__title_of_piece.AVI
Files must be full quality resolution appropriate for presentation. If selected, the file you send is what will be use for the exhibition reel or installation. Entries with file resolution too low for quality presentation will not be considered.
2. PDF file of your resume, bio, and/or artist statement (at least one).
3. One or two JPG file stills from your video, to be used for press, promo, web, etc.
4. Completed entry form.
5. Please put all files into one folder and Zip/Compress this folder before submitting your entries.
6. Post your zipped/compressed folder to Dropbox and email a link for access and download to -OR- send your zipped/compressed folder using to Entries are accepted as files only. We are not able to accept DVDs or Tapes.
Each venue will coordinate compilation of pieces selected for their exhibition or event. Venues may retain copies of all work for their archives, for promotion, and for educational purposes. Stills from videos, or photographs of installation pieces, may be used for promotion, press, and publication.
The exhibition and event venues reserve the right to reproduce stills and video excerpts for purposes of documentation, publicity, press, and promotion. Some venues may take a commission on sales, please see the links to more informationabout each show for amounts and more details.
Artwork will be handled with care. Do not send original tapes or media. All media submitted for these exhibitions are
considered copies and are not covered as original artwork. Installation work will be covered on a case by case basis
between the artist and the exhibiting venue. The artist must have all rights and copyrights to the artworks being submitted. It is the artist’s responsibility to obtain any required rights and to pay all fees for rights of use.
Accepted installation pieces will be coordinated by each venue directly with the artist. The artist is responsible for
transportation of the work via a shipping company or US Mail. Pieces must be received by the delivery deadline for
inclusion in the exhibition.
Submission to the exhibition shall constitute agreement to all terms of this prospectus.

“All Things Craft” Artisan Market

Artists and Craftspeople:

The 7h Annual “Arts on Division Festival” will be bigger and better than ever! In addition to our most popular events, we will also have an Artisan Market right on Division St.

Arts on Division invites you to participate in “All Things Craft” on Sunday, June 21st.

The AOD Festival runs from June 18 – 21 and will include a variety of exciting performances including Indecorous Theatre and students from the Broadway Mentor’s Program, music, artist demonstrations such as – glass-blowing and Raku pottery firing, and several pop-up gallery exhibits.  (Complete festival schedule will be available soon)   -All culminating in our Sunday Artisan Market.

Last year’s festival brought in over 4,000 people and each year our attendance grows!

Artists and craftspeople of all media and styles are invited.  Set up your shop on Division Street, enjoy the warm summer air, music and festival atmosphere as you chat with buyers and sell your work. Download the submission form here.

Young Artist Showcase

In its continuing mission to support younger artists, this year’s
Arts On Division Festival, Friday June 19th through Sunday June 21st will include a Young Artist Showcase

This Pop-Up Gallery will be hosted by “The School of Rock” in Somerville. Artists, College age or younger can submit their work to be part of the showcase.

Submission Guidelines:

1.  Submit a photo of a maximum of 2 pieces of work to with the following information

2.  Name and Age of Artist, Size of work, Title and Medium, contact email address

3.  Application emails and photos are due by May 23, 2015.

4.  Accepted applicants will be notified by email by May 30, 2015.

5.  All submissions must be dropped off at The School of Rock, 1 West Main St., Somerville (Entrance on South Bridge Street) on Saturday June 13th between noon and 2 pm.

6.  All submissions must be picked up Sunday June 21st between 3pm and 5pm at The School of Rock.

7.   Submissions should be no larger than 30 x 40 inches due to space limitations.

8.   All artwork must have the correct AODYAS labels ( labels form will be sent upon approval
of artwork) attached to the back of the artwork.

9.   All work must be matted or mounted for display.  They may be mounted on stretched canvas, matboard, colorful construction paper and/ or foamboard.  If artwork cannot meet these requirements please contact Helene Venizelos at

10.  Only original pieces of artwork will be accepted.  Please NO color copies of the originals. Please refrain from submitting artwork with copyrighted characters and logos.

11.  You must be in college or younger to enter.  If age 17 or younger a parent must sign the AODYAS label to be submitted with each artwork.

12.   Photos of your work may be taken for advertising and documentation purposes.
